16 St Martin’s Le Grand
Iconic 1925 building 16 St Martin’s Le Grand recently underwent head-to-toe refurbishment. The original architecture is honoured in every detail throughout both the exterior and interior, offering a truly unique workspace in City of London.

Barr Gazetas is the architect behind the modern, flexible workspaces stretching across 7 floors within 16 St Martin’s Le Grand’s heritage setting. Two floors were designed and fully fitted as part of the base build. Here, our Woodstock table, Crossover chair, Ekko sofa, Smile lounge chair and Spire coffee table were all incorporated as part of the carefully selected interior.

“A hugely rewarding aspect of our job is the opportunity to engage with London’s historic buildings. This project was particularly special, given its rich history and strong identity. Every design decision was meticulously detailed to ensure it was meaningful while respecting the building’s historic character, whilst also incorporating contemporary features to provide premium 21st Century workspace.”

Woodstock Conference tables were chosen for the bigger meeting rooms. They feature our new twin column, allowing to scale up the table with depths from 1400mm to 1800mm, making for an impactful conference or boardroom table. Crossover Young Iconic chairs fit seamlessly around the Woodstock tables with their sophisticated profile, whilst offering both comfort and functionality.
In a smaller meeting room, Woodstock Round with twin column makes space for up to 6 people. Again, Crossover chairs are the chosen seating, here in strong orange Steelcut Trio upholstery from Kvadrat.

“Inside, the newly fitted CAT A+ office floors echo the vibrancy and colour palette of the original Courtaulds spaces. Rich hues, sophisticated textures, and carefully selected modern-classic furniture pieces as well as carefully designed fixed joinery pieces have been incorporated to breathe life into the interiors, reviving the dynamism and grandeur that once defined this remarkable building.”

Striking red Hero upholstery from Kvadrat on the Smile Lounge chairs and Ekko Sofas stands out in the open office, inviting people to touchdown for informal meetings or small breaks. Robust yet elegant, Spire Coffee Tables accompanies Smile and Ekko around the workspace. The Spire table tops are custom made for this project in 100% recycled & recyclable Polygood plastic.
