Where do you feel most present?
I’m lucky enough to say, that I have two places where I can be my unfiltered self and where I truly enjoy being present. When I’m with my two boys, 3 year old Finley and 5 year old Lewis, whether that being at home, or on the playground or travelling.
And secondly at work. Like my father, who has been in the furniture industry for more than 35 years now and still active, I love my work. It’s part of who I am. Running Icons of Denmark with my partner Sandra, our work and life have become inseparable and it’s actually working.
What inspires a sense of adventure in you?
When someone says it can’t be done. Whether it is big or small subjects, finding a way to prove “nay-sayers” wrong I find to be an adventure in itself.
What’s your go-to Karaoke song?
I used to live in Dublin working for a Danish furniture company, so if you put on Wild Rover by the Dubliners, I’ll join in… I might also do a little (river) dance 😊
Favourite piece of the Icons of Denmark collection?
Out of our current collection, I think we got a lot of things right with the Woodstock series, so that’s one of the favourites. When working with a design it’s a real challenge, to first identify the cap in the market and then actually create the product that fills it. With Woodstock we have created something that is truly original and not seen before and it is highly relevant for our clients. Our first amazing project wins with Woodstock during 2018, which is our first year of sale, speaks for itself.
To pick a favourite is tricky because I would probably always be most excited about the piece we are currently developing and working on right now. Unfortunately, I can’t yet reveal what is coming, but I can promise Icons of Denmark will continue to bring original and relevant designs to the market in the years to come.
