Refettorio Felix

Icons of Denmark are proud to have specified furniture for the Refettorio Felix community kitchen in Kensington opened by renowned chef Massimo Bottura.

Refettorio Felix is designed by Ilse Crawford, founder of Studio Ilse, whose primary aim has been to create a beautiful space for the less fortunate – a universal pleasure often missing from social projects. With visitors primarily being from socially vulnerable or homeless backgrounds, the studio felt the focus should be on making them feel closer together.

Icons of Denmark specified the FDB C35C dining tables in solid oak lacquered frame with mushroom linoleum top, which adds a touch of Danish mid-century functionalism to the beautiful space.

Refettorio Felix is supported by Bottura’s non-profit organisation Food for Soul and The Felix Project which sources high-quality in-date ingredients that would otherwise go to waste from supermarkets and delivers them to charities. Apart from serving means prepared by two resident cooks and guest chefs, the community space will also be used to host events, workshops and social entrepreneurship programmes to engage the local community in the fight against food waste.
