The J83 stool was designed by Jørgen Bækmark. Made of solid oak and with a hand-woven paper cord seat that demonstrate the care and attention to detail in the crafting of the bench, this Danish design icon is a contemporary today as back in the 1960s when it was designed. Perfectly complementing the chair series J80, J81 and J82, the stool is ideal both as an extension for the feet and as a stand-alone piece.
FDB (est. 1896) are Denmark’s longstanding cooperative of home goods producers. Since the 1950s, they have been recognised, both in the design world and Danish households, for their creative furniture studio which housed a generation of iconic architects and furniture designers, such as Poul Volther, Børge Mogensen and Ejvind A. Johansson.
With a democratic approach to furniture; FDB embodied the idea of well-made, everyday furniture with the functional refinement which so encapsulates Danish Design. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the J series; a refined and simple collection that is not simply furniture, but part of Denmark’s rich cultural history.
