The popular J80 chair was designed in the 1950s and retains the spindle backrest but with a beautifully handwoven seat; demonstrating the care and attention to detail in the chair’s crafting. J80 is available with slim armrests as J81.
FDB (est. 1896) are Denmark’s longstanding cooperative of home goods producers. Since the 1950s, they have been recognised, both in the design world and Danish households, for their creative furniture studio which housed a generation of iconic architects and furniture designers, such as Poul Volther, Børge Mogensen and Ejvind A. Johansson.
With a democratic approach to furniture; FDB embodied the idea of well-made, everyday furniture with the functional refinement which so encapsulates Danish Design. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the J series; a refined and simple collection that is not simply furniture, but part of Denmark’s rich cultural history.
